This app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no internet permission, no analytics, no advertising, and no user accounts. Your study progress never leaves your device.
What the app stores, and where
Everything stays in the app's own private storage on your device:
- Settings — theme, accent colour, font choice, and quiz preferences.
- Statistics — which characters you have been quizzed on, your correct and incorrect counts, and your weak-character list.
- Quiz progress — your position in the current quiz, so you can close the app and pick up where you left off.
This data is written only to the app's own sandboxed storage. The app cannot read it, we cannot read it, and it is not transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently, and there is no account to cancel or delete because no account is ever created.
Permissions
The app requests no Android permissions of its own — in particular it does not request internet access, storage access, contacts, location, camera, microphone, or device identifiers, and it asks the user for nothing at runtime. It has nothing to collect. (The app package does contain one internal signature-level permission that the AndroidX libraries generate automatically to keep their own broadcast receivers private. It is not a user-facing permission, is never shown to you, and grants no access to your device or its data.)
Network access
The app has no internet permission and makes no network requests. Every character, pronunciation clip, stroke diagram, and dictionary entry is bundled inside the app. It works fully offline, including in aeroplane mode, and it does not phone home, check for updates, or load anything from a server.
Children
The app is suitable for learners of any age and is not directed at children. It does not collect data from anyone, including children, and it contains no ads, no purchases, and no links out to third-party services.
Third-party components
The app is self-contained. It embeds no advertising, analytics, or crash reporting SDK, and it contacts no third-party server.
The bundled character data is derived from KANJIDIC2, published by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG), licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
Your rights
Because no data is collected and no data is shared, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Your data is yours: it lives only on your device, and removing the app removes it.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change. Any version that adds network features will be described here before it is released.
